The problem is that with each tactic, there are literally hundreds of different routes you can take to advertise. “Should I do this...Should I do that?”...A lot of them are great solutions, but there are just too many. What should your business focus on? Well, today we’re going to focus on Facebook Ads and learn if they will work for your business. Facebook ads are extremely powerful, underpriced, and highly effective for most businesses. Here are some of the benefits Facebook Ads have:
There are plenty more benefits to using Facebook’s Advertising. Wouldn’t it be amazing if Facebook Ads were right for your business and you could utilize these benefits? Well, it might be! In order to answer this question, all you have to do is answer these 4 questions:
Let’s talk about these questions and why they are important to know before deciding if Facebook Ads are right for your business.
Facebook’s ad targeting system is absolutely amazing. The algorithm used is utilizing information gathered from over 2.7 billion people around the world and other businesses that are running ads to keep making their targeting system better over time. The only problem is that if you don’t have a large enough budget, Facebook won’t be able to learn while optimizing your advert on their platform. As a professional, I recommend having AT LEAST $100/ month specifically for Facebook advertising. Ideally, this number would be around $300/ month but if you want the minimum budget you can use while still being able to benefit from Facebook’s algorithm, you can start off with $100. Having a monthly budget any lower would be a waste of your time and resources. If you don’t have the budget to start with this, I recommend not running ads at all and generating more revenue until you do have $100 to spare for Facebook Ads. Once you do have this budget, Facebook will be able to optimize your spending on your ads so that you get the best return on your investment and crush your campaign goals!
When deciding whether you should run Facebook Ads or not, you need to have a specified target audience that you want to target in your ad campaign. You can easily waste a large part of your budget and get zero results if you don’t specify your target audience beforehand. Doing this is called “Market Positioning”. Read our article on Market Positioning to learn the exact step-by-step plan to specify your target audience. In short, you need to know their demographics, psychographics, and behaviors before starting with Facebook Ads. Once you know those three things, without a doubt, you can start running Facebook Ads. Doing this will give you the best return on your investment and your ads will convert the people seeing it into loyal fans because you’ll be speaking DIRECTLY to them!
WARNING, with this information you’ve gathered about your target audience, you want to work with a professional to target that audience in Facebook Ads. If you don’t know how to properly do this with Facebook’s ad targeting, you could end up wasting even more money than if you didn’t specify your audience at all. If you choose not to hire a professional, I recommend you only specify the location of your ad and let Facebook’s algorithm figure out your audience over time. Thankfully Facebook’s algorithm is very effective at doing this itself.
Spending money on advertising is done with the expectation that it will provide a positive return on investment. This is great, but if you create a boring advertisement that doesn’t inspire action in your customer’s mind, you’re doing nothing but wasting your hard-earned money. Do you have a compelling offer? When creating your offer, you need to make sure it does these things:
Here’s the kicker, the above needs to be accomplished within a fraction of a second while the user is scrolling through their feed. I don’t say that to intimidate you, I say that so you can keep this in mind when creating your offer. If you don’t do everything on that list, you will lose money on your advertisements. Once you create a compelling offer that hits those 4 things in a fraction of a second, the people seeing it won’t be able to resist your offer and will fall in love with your business.
When running ad campaigns with Facebook (& most other tactics), you need to drive that traffic to your website. If you don’t have a website don’t run Facebook ads. This is a must. Even if your goal is to increase your Facebook Page views, increase post reach, etc.; you need to give your customers information about your brand. A website is the best thing you can do for this. It increases your brand awareness, credibility, leads, organic traffic, opens digital marketing strategies, etc. You can learn exactly how to get a website for your business by reading our Full Website Guide or you can Get Started with us and we’ll build you a website that will convert your visitors into loyal customers. If you choose not to get a website before running ads with Facebook, you’ll lose leads and ultimately lose revenue. Make sure to have a website before running Facebook ads. If you do have a website for your Facebook Ad Campaigns, your customers will fully understand and be able to trust your business’s offer.
If your answer was a definite yes to these 4 questions, then congratulations, Facebook Ads are right for your business. Start running Facebook Ads today to grow your business and achieve your goals. If you answered no to one of those questions, the good news is you can work on making it into a yes. Don’t have $100 to spend? Come back once you do. Don’t have a Specified Target Audience?
